Introducing winners of Hafez Awards
The 23rd Hafez Awards Cinema and Television Ceremony
The 23rd Hafez Awards ceremony concluded with introduction of winners in various categories.
According to Artmag.ir, citing Iribnews, ceremony was held in presence of filmmakers and program makers. Arash Khairavi, Khosrow Dehghan, Javad Toosi, Seyed Aria Ghoreyshi, Mohammadreza Lotfi, Alireza Majma, Omid Moallem, Azar Memarian, Amirreza Nouri Parto, Kasra Velaei, and Amir Houshang Hashemi are jury members of this edition of Donyaye Tasvir (Hafez Awards) cinema and television event.
In presence of Shahab Hosseini, Ali Moallem Special Award and Lifetime Achievement Award were presented to Morteza Aghili. He came on stage to applause of audience and said: Tonight I am in a bad mood and also in a good mood. I can’t believe it. I remembered the day my mother came to Cyprus to see us after many years. He started laughing and crying. He said that my happiness is because I saw you again and my crying is because your father is not there to see you. Tonight I am in this state. My joy, love and laughter are you who still believe in me. My hatred is because my friends, colleagues and teachers wished for such a night. People like Mohammadi Fardin, Nasser Malek-Matiei, Mr. Vahdat and Behrouz Vosoughi. Hopefully one day no artist will be banned.

Special Jury Award in Cinema Section was given to Masoud Kimiai.
Masoud Kimiai, who was not present at ceremony due to illness, had sent a message and Javad Toosi read it: Art is connected to life and life is the result of social work. I will soon be well and make a film that my soul and essence have always wanted to make. There is a rare man here. Ali Moallem was my friend and companion.

Saghar Ostad Sharif and Omid Moallem came on stage to present the Best Film award, but according to the jury’s statement, no film was deemed worthy of the Hafez statuette.
Hafez Award, is an annual awards ceremony held to recognize cinematic achievements in Iranian cinema and television achievements on Iranian television.
The first Hafez Awards were held in 1997 by Donyaye Tasvir magazine, which is why the ceremony is also known as the Hafez Awards.
