The Deputy Minister of Arts of Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance expressed his condolences on death of Dr. Parviz Eskandar Pour Khorrami painter.
According to ISNA, Parviz Eskandar Pour, who designed and supervised the shrines, half-shrines, doors, carpets and works of art used in the holy shrines of the Imams in Karbala, Najaf, Samarra and Damascus, including the shrines of Hazrat Muslim Ibn Aqeel ( In Kufa, Habib Ibn Mazahir and Ibrahim Mojab, one of the companions of Imam Hossein (AS) in Karbala, passed away due to coronary heart disease.
He was born in 1338 in Tehran and completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in painting from Tehran University and Tarbiat Modares University, and later received a doctorate in art research from Shahed University in Tehran.
Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini, Deputy Minister of Arts of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, wrote in a message of condolence to Parviz Eskandar Pour Khorrami:
“Parviz Eskandar Pour Khorrami, a painter, worked for many years on Iranian-Islamic art and left works as a memento and served for the design and artistic supervision of the parts of the holy shrines of Atbat-e-Aliat. Teaching art at the university for many years and writing books on Iranian Islamic art is also a living service of Eskandar Pour that will not be forgotten.
“I offer my condolences on the death of Parviz Eskandar Pour to his esteemed family, artists and art lovers, and I ask God Almighty to grant him the highest degrees.”
According to the report, Habibaollah Sadeghi, head of the visual arts group at the Academy of Arts, also sent a message of condolence following the death of Parviz Eskandar Pour Khorrami.

The news of the death of Dr. Parviz Eskandar Pour Khorrami, a researcher and professor at the Faculty of Arts of Tarbiat Modares University, was very sad. He was a sincere and capable artist in the field of visual arts and spent his life serving the values of idealistic and Islamic art. He was also one of the servants of the Ahl al-Bayt and left valuable works in the reconstruction of the holy shrines.
“The Academy of Fine Arts Visual Arts Group extends its condolences to the art community and their esteemed family on the loss of this precious artist, and prays to God for the family of the deceased, and for his immediate exaltation and forgiveness.”
It is worth mentioning that the collection of five-volume book “Painting Education” published by Soreh Mehr Publications is a part of other works left from the life of Eskandar Pour.
