Iranian winners of the Callithon International Calligraphy Competition
The closing ceremony of the Callithon International Calligraphy Competition was held in India and 6 Iranian calligraphers were selected as the winners in this competition, of which 2 are from Mashhad.
In an interview with ISNA, the person in charge of holding the Callithon International Calligraphy Competition in India said about the details of holding and closing the competition: The closing ceremony of the Callithon Competition was held live from cyberspace on October 18, 2020. The competition, which was widely acclaimed worldwide and had the highest number of participants with 2,000, came from Singapore. At the end of the festival, Noria Garcia Masip, a prominent French calligrapher, Sedico Jumah, a contemporary Islamic artist from the United Kingdom, and Fauzia Maram, a young researcher in Islamic art from India, spoke.
Regarding the judges and the way of judging the works, he stated: The jury of this competition consisted of Professor Fouad Koichi Honda from China, Materr Mohammad Tarifi Khashti from Iran and Mr. Abdolkhaum Silawat from India who played an important and influential role in deciding the winners of the competition. they had. Expertise, judging and selection of winners were done while keeping the names, nationalities and genders of the participants anonymous, and the works of the top finalists in each group were carefully examined by the competition team so that no mistakes were made.
Ikram Ahmad Khan said about the winners of this competition: This competition was held in three levels: beginner, intermediate and professional. In the professional level, Yassin Hossein Dastaraj from India won the first place, Muzaffar Bozorg Omid from Iran won the second place and Mohammad Ghosuddin from India won the third place. At the intermediate level, Haidar Anas from India came first. Fariba Foroutan from Iran also came in second, and Mohammad Owais from Pakistan came in third. At the beginner level, Vajih Ali Mirzaei from Iran won the first place. Noheh Abdolnasser from India came in second and Akram Irfanpour from Iran came in third.
The person in charge of organizing the Callithon International Calligraphy Competition in India noted: Callithon will hold annual calligraphy competitions in English and Arabic, and the next event will be in 2021.
In this regard, Mohammad Tarifi, who participated in the Callithon International Calligraphy Competition as an Iranian judge, stated: The process of holding and closing the Callithon Competition was held virtually. At the professional level, Mr. Mozaffar Bozorg Omid from Marivan was selected as the second person and Mr. Sattar Valinejad from Khorramabad as the fourth person. In the middle level, Ms. Fariba Forootan won the second place and at the beginner level, Ms. Vajiheh Ali Mirzaei from Mashhad won the first place and Ms. Akram Irfanpour from Mashhad won the third place.
He added: “The prizes have been the same for all three levels of beginner, intermediate and professional. The first prize of each level is $ 200, the second prize is $ 125 and the third prize is $ 75, in addition to the participants of the international certificate of this competition.” Will be donated. Of course, due to coronary heart disease and the problems that existed, all stages of the competition were held virtually, but in the coming years, this competition will be held in a more detailed and comprehensive manner.
