The book “Mezrab Dance” has been published by Siavash Kamkar, Mahyar Tarihi and Mostafa Momenian.
According to ISNA, this book, which includes 22 pieces for contemporary dulcimer, has been published by Hestan Publications.
Introducing this book by its authors, it is stated: “The beautiful sense of learning and teaching at the same time is the main motivation for publishing this book. It has been more than a decade since we proudly became students in the presence of Master Ardavan Kamkar and learned the style of contemporary dulcimer. From then until today, the desire to teach what we have learned has taken root in us and teaching has become an integral part of our professional activities.
After going through many ups and downs and empathies that arose during the training, as well as performing trio concerts for dulcimer and collaborating in Master Kamkar’s master classes, we decided to use what we had saved and perform each other’s pieces in different concerts. After each performance, let’s review the suggestions and criticisms about those pieces together. This was done in a friendly atmosphere on the one hand, and the strictness and punctuation of our teacher, on the other hand.
The simultaneity of these two senses and spaces was an unparalleled experience for us, in addition to using constructive critiques and distinguishing between the two, we became more familiar with each other’s taste in composing. “The result of that heartwarming experience, which was by no means easy to obtain, is a collection of pieces by three composers in a contemporary dulcimer style.”
