Artmag.ir, the bilingual portal of Iranian professional artists, won the first place in the reporting section in the 22nd annual press competition of the Guild of Iranian Theater Critics, Writers and Researchers.
According to Artmag.ir, the article A reflection on contemporary Armenian theater in Iran, written by Alireza (Kavian) Hayel Moghadam, won the first place in the report section of the 22nd annual press competition of the Iranian Association of Theater Critics, Writers and Researchers.
This ceremony was held in the hall of Ostad Jalil Shahnaz of the artists’ house, along with the awarding of prizes and recognition of the winners.
The judging and selection of selected works in this period of the competition was done by: Mahnaz Ronaghi, Majid Rezaian, Afshin Khurshid Bakhtari and Mehdi Ashna.
Darwan’s board of this competition has stated in their statement:
We didn’t expect such a “scene” where there was no life left for the show, no place for the theater. Although we die so that the theater does not run out of breath and the stage returns, maybe of course.
From this point of view, all actions, contests and competitions from the association during these 22 years were focused on strengthening the “bent height of the theater”, a height that we have always wanted to be proud and tall.

We express hope through the lines so that the bitter taste of the theater is a bit bitter, we remember that Aristotle, the first teacher, taught us all that the theater and books will survive, the society will remain dynamic and thriving.
By examining the bright shadow of the developments of these days of theater in Iran, the Guild of Theater Critics held its annual press competition in the fields of “articles, reviews, reports, notes, interviews, photos” and the jury reviewed the received works and put the assessment. The short summary of the judges’ evaluation is as follows:
The works received in the field of articles in both research and media aspects were worthy and worthy of attention. We can hope for this sector in the coming years, more than now.
In the review section, we are faced with ups and downs in the submitted works that bring “fear and hope” together.
The works that were worthy of attention and the reviews that are still far from reaching the ideal. Although it cannot be doubted that the basis of journalism and especially criticism is “questioning” and reaching the elements of “how” and “why” of trends, and here is the field of theater. However, solid works and respectable reviews included a higher percentage.
Reporting is one of the most interesting and influential disciplines in our theater field. Subject to the fact that the narrative report of the formation process of the theatrical work was before the scene. Sometimes the reports distance themselves from the main element of the narrative and with analysis, they come close to the criticism and sometimes the article.
In the photo section, we are still far from the optimal level, however, the element of creativity can be seen in some works, but not as expected. The finished works involve more application of the creative element, aesthetic principles and avoiding stereotypes, along with following the professional rules for the coming years.
However, in such a situation, we warmly and humbly shake the hand of each creator in all fields, who have kept the light of hope of the theater on in this time full of uncertainty and despair; We take off our hats and say thanks and also say: I have a thousand hopes/ and every thousand is you!
