The fifth edition of MENA International Film Festival will be held in The Hague in the Netherlands with the aim of supporting young filmmakers and independent cinema in North Africa and the Middle East region and presenting contemporary visual perspectives.
According to Artmag.ir, The fifth MENA (Middle East) international film festival, under the direction of Mohammad Amin, an Iraqi poet living in the Netherlands, with works by Iranian directors and the countries of Greece, Tunisia, Holland, Iraq, Morocco, Egypt, Sudan, and Lebanon, as well as with Presenting visual contemporary perspectives on the cultural, political, social and artistic situation of the Middle East and North Africa region; It will be held on December 9 and 10, 2023 in The Hague in the Netherlands.
The members of the jury of the 5th Mena International Film Festival, which are: Khadija Bouachrine, a film journalist from Morocco, Alaeddine Saidi, a film critic from Tunisia, Nihad Al Kadi, a critic and lawyer from Tunisia. Iraq, Patricia Cardona, director and poet from Spain, as well as Abderrahim El Haloui, film critic from Morocco; Best Actress Award, Best Actor Award, Best Film Award, Peace and Justice Award and Audience Award are given to the winners.
In the fifth edition of Mena International Film Festival, the short film “Harofchin” Typist directed by “Nasim Forough” and written and produced by “Shahed Ahmadlou” as well as the short film “Borders Never Die” directed by “Hamidreza Arjamandi” Representatives of Iranian cinema will appear in the competitive section and compete for the awards of this film event.
