The tribute ceremony of Morteza Momayez, on the occasion of the artist’s 18th anniversary, was held on Friday, December 15, with the presence of Mohammad Mahdi Asgarpour, the CEO of Iran’s Artists’ House, and a group of graphic artists.

Mohammad Mahdi Asgharpour, CEO of Artists’ House, said in this ceremony: I came on behalf of associations that are members of the Supreme Council of Artists’ House. I would like to thank the family of Master Momayez, who are the sponsors of this event, so that those who are interested in this great master can gather.
He added: Master Momayez’s relationship with the house of artists is undeniable. We remember this teacher every day. This honorable man was one of the founders of the House of Artists. The idea that Master Momayez is not present is an absurd idea. Good luck to people like us who lived in a period where they were present.
Introducing Iranian graphics to Europeans
Ebrahim Haghigi, a graphic designer, gave a speech in the continuation of this program and said: One of the efforts of Morteza Momayez was to introduce Iranian graphics to Europe. Iran’s graphics are known as world leading graphics, and this was nothing but the activities of Morteza Momayez. We owe them with pride.
He continued: Mostafa Assou was always with Morteza Momayez. Although Mostafa Assou does not live in Iran, he has a strong presence in Iranian graphics, as you will see in the exhibition.
He continued: These are the lessons that we artists learned from Morteza Momayez. Cultural work without eyes and pay requires constant work, something Morteza Momayez’s students do well.
In a part of this ceremony, the talks of Alexander Deimos (French artist) whose works are present in the exhibition were broadcasted.
Morteza Momayez’s link with the greats of French graphics
