In fountain of thought, eyes must be washed
Alireza Karimi Saremi: Rumi (Jalāl al-Dīn Muḥammad Rūmī) says about thought: The infinite creation is a thought between / turned like a slap on ground / that thought pre-created the crumb / but like a flood it ate and took the world.
Dehkhoda (Ali Akbar Dehkhoda) has defined thought as thought, deliberation, reflection, suspicion and imagination.
Nowadays, more than ever, the key to understanding any question is thought, and thinking and the difference between man and animal is thinking. It is synonymous with thought, reflection, thinking and imagination. So the thoughtless man lacks thought and reflection and is left with a dry leaf that the wind blows from time to time so that it rots and disappears over time.
A society that does not know how to think will not see the evolution towards a bright future, like the withered leaf, it is uncharacteristic and its authority is in the hands of the wind and its destination is nowhere to be found.
Today, the whole life of nations, which includes actions, behavior and social laws, is the product of their thought.
A society that opposes thinking and sees change as frightening, indirectly calls for captivity and tyranny so that dark-minded aliens can impose their thoughts on them, so that slavery can flourish again in the 21st century and millions of people have been enslaved. And they shall be seized with terror, until the immature sons and daughters are sold, and the maidservants and slaves of the ring, and the sex workers of the community, become mercenaries and brainless.
Really, why are some of the rulers of the countries of the world afraid of the thinking of their people and do not provide the means to think? Why do the people of these societies also run away from thought and thinking?
Despite such nations alien to thought thought, the great powers have the opportunity to penetrate into them by recognizing their weaknesses and impose their colonial black thoughts on them, and that is where the new backwardness and slavery begins.
Where is the real problem of these communities? It seems that, unfortunately, some nations have not yet inherently been able to grasp the concept of thought. Because they do not think about what is necessary to think and they sacrifice themselves to their ignorance. They may be afraid to think because they consider any change in their thinking habits to be contrary to the dominant ideas of their society, so they commit intellectual suicide.
In a previous article, I quoted Martin Heidegger [1] as saying, “The most thought-provoking thing in our day-to-day thinking is that we do not think yet.” [2]
At this point in time, it seems that the views of famous sociologists such as Anthony Giddens[3], who believe that “traditional states have completely disappeared from the face of the earth” [4], should be viewed with skepticism; Because these days, in the 21st century, the world of thought is witnessing a rapid retreat from a country like Afghanistan that has been invaded by various ideologies for years. Now he suddenly finds himself in the depths of ignorance left over from previous centuries, and is astonished at the calamity that has befallen them from the previous occupiers.
Changes that may only be made by the introduction of thinking and rethinking into the misconceptions of some of them. Often, the misconceptions and insistence of nations on them can destroy a society, cause the lack of development of thought in that society, and provide a means for others to use it to advance their ideological goals to enter the intellectual system of a society.
Dark thinkers will be policy makers so that the target community can intensify their misconceptions and make it part of their heartfelt faith. The flight from thinking and thinking of such societies leads to superstition and intellectual unevenness.
Belief in superstition in the modern age, despite scientific advances, is still prevalent among millions of people around the world. The evil eye in the Middle East, the misfortune of number 13 in the West, and the good fortune of red in East Asia, are examples of common superstitions. Many nations know that these ideas are unscientific but still follow them. really why? How do superstitions affect their minds and psyches?
Jane Reesen, a professor of behavioral science at the University of Chicago and a member of the American Psychological Association, explains this with the help of the cognitive process. According to him, the human brain can think about different issues at different speeds. When the mind thinks quickly about an issue, it can not analyze it logically. In this case, if a person is confronted with a superstitious problem, his brain reacts quickly to it and may act on that misconception.
Another problem with superstition is paranoia. People with the disorder, called paranoids, often think that others are trying to harass or conspire against them. These people may accuse those around them of making false accusations and lose their trust in other human beings. People with paranoia, who also have superstitious beliefs, are always looking to find out what methods are being used by those around them to hit them, in order to learn ways to deal with it. The occurrence of an event, which in the eyes of most people in society is an accident, is considered by these people as a conspiracy that their enemies have plotted. [5] In these societies, sometimes a family or a tribe commits inhumane acts to the point of killing a human being, and tribal elders endorse that violent behavior. What is worse is that this action is also considered a holy and good deed and it is called a divine command.
In order to get rid of superstition and reach the reality whose source is based on deep thoughts, it is necessary to eliminate superstitions and wash them under rain of thought. According to Sohrab Sepehri, the eyes should be washed / one should see differently / The umbrellas should be closed / one should go under rain / the thought should take memory under rain / with all people of city under rain …
From the beginning of the new age to present day and its gradual development, the emergence of new ideas has been a stimulus to liberate man from the imposed superstitions of past centuries and has been able to overcome superstitions and rational methods in understanding, inspired by modern thinking. Gained the universe. However, in some parts of the world, there are rituals and ceremonies that are beyond our thinking today. In Indonesian island of Sulawesi, for example, with a population of over one million, the dead have been a normal part of the living for centuries. This ritual is an indigenous religion tied to Christianity and Islam.
For hundreds of years, Torajians have kept the bodies of their dead indoors for months and sometimes years. During this time, they treat him as if he were ill; Twice a day they bring him food, cigarettes and coffee, wash him regularly and change his clothes. They also never leave him alone indoors and turn on lights when it gets dark. Families are worried that their souls will be tormented if they do not take good care of dead. [6] The question now is, is such a life possible? Respecting the religion of the one million people on island of Sulawesi in Indonesia, this is unimaginable. This legacy left by the ancient ancestors of this people may have indigenous critics, but fear of punishment for disrespecting the spirits and consequently being rejected by society, has subdued them in the face of this internal conflict.
Sigmund Freud [7] says about presence of spirits: “Unfortunately, the demonstrations and information that are seen and heard from these spirits are so vulgar, stupid and trivial that it can only strengthen one belief in us, and that is spirits “They have ability to level themselves with those who have been summoned.” [8]
In twenty-first century, in an age when the world is achieving impossible with unimaginable speed, how can one imprison the intellect in the fence of old and static behavior and close its eyes to the realities around it? Although we are in the “Paleolithic Age of the Heart, the Iron Age of Emotion and the Bronze Age of Emotion” [9], the time is a time of contemplation and its superstition and prevalence in closed societies will only bear fruit and spread ignorance and is a path to Destruction of humanity and entering the slaughterhouse of thought.
“Rutger Bregman writes in Hopeful History of Mankind: When terrorists attack, the news media focuses primarily on the ideology of the disease that’s apparently behind it”. There is no doubt that ideology [10] is an important factor. This factor was important in Nazi Germany, and it is certainly important for the leaders of terrorist organizations such as al-Qaeda and ISIS. Many of these groups are made up of young people who have swallowed books on extremist Islam (such as Osama bin Laden, known as the Book Eater). Now, who wrote these books is a place for much reflection. But research shows that ideology plays a very small role in the low-ranking soldiers (mercenaries) of these organizations. Consider the thousands of jihadists (ISIS) who fled to Syria in 2013 and 2014. Three-quarters of them were attracted through their acquaintances and friends. According to polls published by ISIL, many were unfamiliar with the simplest religious precepts of Islam. [11] Perhaps they are unknowingly and without any thoughts in their hearts. What is the point of Nietzsche here [12] who said: “And innocence is the same as ignorance of innocence”. [13]
Over the centuries, lack of thought has always been a cause of ignorance and concern for different societies; Both the blood that has not been shed on the basis of ignorance and the nations that instead of progressing towards progressive societies, have not gone back centuries and have not added ignorance to their ignorance and have considered it as a cultural feature. So where is the place of reason?
Rumi says: O brother, you have the same thoughts / the rest of your bones and roots / in other words, he considers the existence of man as equivalent to his thoughts.
Aristotle says: “Thought, that is, the activity of the intellect, is the true privilege of man over other beings and the cause of his survival.[14] Immanuel Kant also believes: “Dare to think! Dare to use your intellect! Have the courage to use your intellect! “Kant’s phrase is an explicit invitation to reason and rationality, an obvious call to the fundamental point that man must release the energies of his intellect and think and reason directly and without the guidance and arrest of others. [15]
We achieve what is called thinking when we think for ourselves. So in order to be able to think, we have to learn it.
But what is learning? Man learns when he coordinates all his actions and behavior with what is always left to him from the basics. We learn to think when we pay attention to what is there to think about. [16] The good, the bad, the ugly and beautiful have always shown themselves in the course of human life. Reasoning and thinking have always made it easy for him to find the right path, without which he would stare at superstitions at the bottom of his well of ignorance. When will we really find ourselves? The lost one who must try to free himself from his ignorance.
Antoine Chekhov writes: “If you show man how he is, it will be better.” [17] But perhaps this valuable phrase does not apply to all nations today, because representing what they are and criticizing their behavior will provoke a quick reaction; Perhaps “[their] life is a dream that does not seem to be awakened.” [18]
In conclusion, universe is not a swamp in which human beings can walk. To be saved and to achieve ideals of a transcendent world, one must have transcendent thoughts and ideas based on one’s time. By avoiding ignorance, one can cause glorious events in times of cruelty, extremism and irrationality, one can witness a world of peace and tranquility based on reason and pure thought, and feel the clearest source of thought in life.
