Celebrate Mohammad Sayyad and reviewing past four decades of Iranian history

Simultaneously with the screening of the documentary – Portrait “Let Mr. Sayyad Be!”, In honor of Master Mohammad Sayyad, internationally renowned Iranian photographer and Associated Press Photographer of the Year, will be held at the 19th Tasvir (Image) of the Year Festival and Tasvir Film Festival.

According to Artmag, Documentary – Portrait: “Let Mr. Sayyad Be!”, directed by Maryam Malek Mokhtar, is a unique account of last four decades of Iranian history by Mohammad Sayyad, an international news photographer who was named Associated Press Photographer of The Year in 1980.

Steps to make “Let Mr. Sayyad Be!” The result of more than 50 hours of recorded conversations with him has lasted more than three years.

In this 52-minute documentary, Master Mohammad Sayyad, beyond politics and common politicizations, with his own dialect and biological experiences, is an eyewitness and illustrator of the times he narrates.

The compilation of this documentary is a combination of photographs and memoirs of this artist photographer from first days of the revolution, the imposed war and other important social and political events in Iran by Sahand Samadian.

Combining the sound of the film by Mohammad Reza Delpak and designing poster and caption is last living artistic activity of Mehrdad Zolnour.

“Let Mr. Sayyad Be!” Produced by Tasvir Film Center, it was screened in the semi-long section of 15th Cinema Haghighat International Film Festival and won the Festival Secretary Award for its unique film subject.

Simultaneously with the screening of the film “Let Mr. Sayyad Be! ”, Made by Maryam Malek Mokhtar, an interview with Mohammad Sayyad and the film director will be held at Tasvir Film Festival at 7 pm on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Shahnaz Hall.
