Mohammad Mirkiani, storyteller and creator of book “Our story was like” (Ghesse-ye Ma Masal Shod) said: Children’s and adolescent literature is filled with translated fantasy works. For this reason, I tried to write fantasy works with Iranian color and glaze that match life atmosphere of our teenagers.
According to Artmag.ir, Mohammad Mirkiani, a well-known author of children’s and adolescent literature, who has works such as “Ghesse-e Ma Masal Shod” and “Exhortation and Sugar” (Pand va Shekar )in his literary career, in a meeting dedicated to book “Rabbit Festival” at Eshraq Cultural Center He appeared in the group of interested teenagers and answered their questions about book.
In introducing Mohammad Mirkiani, Razavi, host of program, stated: He was a printing press worker and typesetter in his childhood and adolescence. When he wrote his first book, he had experienced 15 different jobs before that. 41 years ago, he joined children’s group of radio, and then at Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults. Works. He has written more than 60 books and more than 500 stories for children. Some of Mirkiani’s books have been turned into movies and animations. Mirkiani was also author of series “Kamal Stories” (Hekayathaye Kamal) which was aired on TV. All Mirkiani’s concerns are that children know more about language, history and culture of Iran.
In addition, Mohammad Mirkiani, author of book “Rabbit Festival” stated: My highest honor is that I write for teenagers of my country and I have spent my life for teenagers for many years. I was born in southern neighborhoods of Tehran and spent my childhood in poverty. I was destined to enter space of stories and writing books for teenagers. In field of teenagers’ literature, I have experienced all kinds of genres, including rural stories, labor stories, fantasy, fiction, etc. I have written books for other ages as well, but a high percentage of my works are for teenagers.
The author of book “The Queen of Mice” stated: I have constantly changed story spaces to write story. I have said many times that author’s works should be like a photo album and audience can see different spaces and stories by flipping through them.
Mirkiani said about book “Rabbit Festival”: “Rabbit Festival” is a trilogy. Trilogy is different from multi-volume books, and multi-volume books should be read completely; While, for example, mysterious plains trilogy, each book has an independent identity and can be read separately. “The Story of Mysterious Plain” (Majaraye Dashte Marmoz), is a sub-section of “Rabbit Festival”, “Queen of Rats” and “Playing Games”, which of course also includes two other collections with titles “Wedding of Geese” and “Palace of Crows”, that these two stories will be published in near future.
The author of book “Our story was like” (Ghesse-ye Ma Masal Shod) stated: “The Story of Mysterious Plain” series is based on several groups of animals that create a new story in each book. Foxes are negative characters of this series, who make a new plot in every story to trap other animals. Goshawks are heroes of this series who eventually come to aid of weak animals and hunt foxes.
Mirkiani, stating that teenagers are very interested in modern stories, said: My goal in writing “The Story of Mysterious Plain” and especially “Rabbit Festival” was to write a modern story and in Narrate a fantasy space. Mohammad Mirkiani, author of book “Playing Games”, said about most important concern of his writing: My main concern is that our children and teenagers get to know meaning of life. Children must understand and understand life. The defense of individual and social rights depends on reading books and getting to know and understand meaning of life. My concern is to present unsaid and hidden layers of life in form of different stories. I have worked in radio for many years and have been active in various television channels and have followed this concern.
