Dr. Amir Hassan Nedaei, born in 1965 in Tehran, was director, producer, writer, editor, researcher, radio expert presenter and composer, graduated with a BA in cinema directing and MA in cinema and PhD in art research, from Tarbiat Modares University and Faculty of Arts.
In addition to teaching and research, he also worked as an expert, presenter, producer and director. One of his recent activities was holding film music training classes, which were well received by the fans.
Professor Dr. Nedaei started his artistic activities from a young age, in 1981, with music and then entered this field due to his interest in cinema. In addition to music and cinema, he was also proficient in painting and pursued the art of painting professionally.
Since 1993, he started his career in filmmaking and directing in IRIB, and during the years of cooperation with the Radio and Television Organization of Islamic Republic of Iran(IRIB), he was able to produce dozens of video clips, several television series, several feature films, and documentaries. Produced and directed.
He started teaching at university in 2000, in fields of cinema, theater, graphics, and animation.
In the field of issues such as Ashura, in addition to making films in this field such as: The Sun in the Ashes, he also wrote several articles, including: Capabilities of Ta’ziyeh in modern imaging in the comparative study of two versions of thesame Ta’ziyeh, elements He pointed out a performance in curtain reading as a multimedia art, Sacred time and place in Ashurai art, etc.

Music is my first specialty
Dr. Nedaei said about his activities: Music is my first specialty. I first started playing music in my teenage years and then I studied cinema. Music was what I did and still do. In fact, I have been teaching music for many years, both in form of teaching Saz and in form of music theory and music-related research areas. In university, I also teach a course about music in master’s degree. What is felt in this area is issue of music recognition, which has become one of great deficiencies in Iran.

Iran’s art and animation community lost another prominent professor yesterday. The late Dr. Amir Hassan Nedaei, who entered the university art community in 1991 with first rank in art entrance exam, did not back down from his efforts to elevate art and knowledge of cinema and animation until last hours of his life.
The witness of this issue was his sincere support and diligent follow-up for five years to stabilize research position and explain talent of producing scientific content of Tehran International Animation Festival, which led to foundation of Iranian Animation Scientific Association along with other professors. In addition, in recent days, he was busy writing a book about animation music to be published in 13th Tehran International Animation Festival, which unfortunately, death took opportunity to create this valuable work.
In addition to these cases, late Professor Nedaei has also accompanied and cooperated with International Animation Festival many times as a judge, and has been present at numerous policy meetings at festival and the center. For this reason, Center for Intellectual Development of Children and Adolescents considers him a precious member of his big family. The students and colleagues of this learned teacher remember nothing but politeness and kindness from him.
His beautiful tone, elegant words, and penetrating look are imprinted in minds of many cinema and television audiences; Because Dr. Nedai, in addition to research and academic activities, was also active and effective in the field of film and television production. Dear Dr. Nedaei had learned this good custom from his precious teacher, the late Dr. Akbar Alemi, whom he considered his spiritual father.
The scientific section of the Tehran International Animation Festival mourns loss of this precious teacher and artist, who for many years tried with great effort to educate a generation of original artists and sincerely believed in need to increase the knowledge of living artists, to artistic community of Iran, especially cinema artists and Animation, as well as his respected family, express their condolences.
Dr. Amir Hassan Nedaei, on morning of Friday 14 October 2022, he died at age of 57 due to cardiac arrest at his home. His body was buried on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Tarbiat Modares University in Tehran and calmed down in artists piece of Behesht Zahra.
