Concert

How much does a concert cost in Tehran?

These days, price of concert tickets in halls of Spinas Palace, Milad International Exhibition Hall and Ministry of Interior has exceeded one million tomans, and it is expected that icket price of Milad Tower will soon reach the same price range.

According to Artmag.ir, quoted by ISNA, this increase in prices causes a question; How much does it cost to rent these halls for one night, which are government owned, that producers are forced to sell tickets at such prices?

The increase in price of concert tickets has peaked since the beginning of Corona pandemic, and at the same time, whispers of concert becoming a luxury commodity began.

At that time, when we sat down to talk with concert organizers, they talked about a compulsion; Mandatory that high increase in cost of holding a concert night required for them.

In fact, when the cost of renting a hall, lighting, sound, advertising, etc., which are requirements of holding a concert, goes up, the organizers have no choice but to raise price of tickets.

Of course, at the same time, it was predicted that in not-so-distant future, ceiling of ticket prices will reach one million Tomans; Because some time later in 1401, some performances were sold for up to one million tomans.

Now, question comes to mind, why halls that are entrusted by government spend as much as private theaters, so thatticket prices reach these astronomical figures? If it is a government hall, then it belongs to all people of country and all people have right to use these facilities, but when such prices are applied, few people in the middle and lower classes will be able to buy tickets for these concerts.

It is not better that custodians of these halls at least settle for cost of renting an empty hall so that concert is not removed from cultural portfolio of people and situation does not change in such a way that same concertgoers restrict holding of concert and these limited choices are taken from people.

Anyway, when price of a ticket is 1 million and 100 tomans, not everyone will have conditions to buy; As a result, taudience of these concerts will decrease and concerts will be less able to sell all their tickets and earn income, in which case number of concerts will be reduced to a minimum and finally these halls will lose a large part of their income!
