Nowruz performance of 3 Iranian artists in St. Petersburg
Three Iranian artists will perform on stage in special Nowruz concert at Mariinsky Opera Hall in St. Petersburg.
On Friday, March 22, 2024, three Iranian artists will take the stage in a special Nowruz concert at Mariinsky Opera Hall.
According to Artmag.ir, at invitation of Ali Rahbari (Permanent guest leader of the Mariinsky Opera) in St. Petersburg, Amin GhafFari (violin player) and Reza Fekri (Tenor singer) will perform on stage in collaboration with Mariinsky Opera Symphony Orchestra.
In this special concert, three works by Ali Rahbari, an international Iranian musician, will be performed.
In this concert, the first part of “Mother Iran No. 1” (Noheh Khan), in three parts for violin and symphony orchestra, will be performed by Amin Ghaffari.
Amin Ghaffari, has recently won villain competition in Japan. This work, which received the special prize of the Vienna Academy of Music and is based on Iranian traditional and religious music, was performed for the first time in Vienna by Bijan Khadem Misagh about 50 years ago. Noheh Khan piece, was gifted to Hossein Alizadeh.
The second part of “Iran’s Mother No. 8” is a work critical of influence of Arab music in Iranian music, for symphonic orchestra.
The third part of “Iran’s Mother No. 11” (So Said Zarathustra), which was written for the Iranian singer of the choir and symphony orchestra, will be staged by Reza Fekri.
So Said Zarathasht, which is based on Zarathustra’s beautiful words in Persian, was performed for the first time about two years ago with the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra and then a year ago at the Mariinsky Opera Hall, sung by Reza Fekri.
The second part of this poem is called “Ancient Nowruz” symphony, to which a poem by Mohammad Farid Naseri has been added.
