Artistic Evaluation Council of the Iran Calligraphers Association respects justice

Gholamhossein Amirkhani, the lasting face of calligraphy, said in the first Masters Assembly of the Iranian Calligraphers Association’s Artistic Evaluation Council elections: The evaluation council elections by the elders of the calligraphy field will ensure that justice is done and the right of an artist who is qualified to receive a master’s degree will not be lost.

According to Artmag.ir quoted by IRNA, Gholamhossein Amirkhani, the enduring face of Iran’s calligraphy field, during the election ceremony of the first master’s assembly of the artistic evaluation council of the Iranian Calligraphers’ Association, suggested the formation of a committee by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance to review the performance of artistic associations. He explained: A few prominent experts should follow up on issues such as financial issues as well as the development plans of art organizations so that the criteria close to their goals can be evaluated and we can put their portfolios on the table.

Master Amirkhani added: We at the calligraphers’ association are ready for you to explore us as the first place to know how much we were able to achieve justice.

He said: Financially and artistically, experts should diagnose us, God forbid, if there is any corruption, let us know where we failed.

He also proposed to investigate the cultural and artistic performance of the government and said: Our country needs a pathology, the government cannot evaluate itself and needs another scale, a non-governmental epistemological and ethical research by several prominent experts such as Dr. Shafiei Kadkani, who are outside the government, should be done so that we know where we are at work, and in fact, the pathology of the government’s performance is one of the most important things that must be done, and to know where we have reached this path, so that we know where the problems are and how to correct them. What should we do and what factors have prevented us from reaching the desired goals?

The veteran master of calligraphy then recited this poem by Rumi, “First of all, get rid of the evil of the mouse – boil it in the wheat heap” and added: “Government managers work hard, but why is this wheat lost?” The mouse that eats wheat should be identified. Where are our historical capitals going, we have to enter the fight precisely and until we do it we will be stuck.

Amirkhani added: Verbal advertising is no longer effective and we need role models for success and words are not enough.

In this meeting, prominent masters and veteran of calligraphy such as Master Amirkhani, Master Selahshor, Master Falsafi, Master Shirazi, etc, were present.
