Commemoration of memory of Dariush Mehrjui at the Moscow Film Festival

The 46th Moscow International Film Festival reviews works of Dariush Mehrjui, the late Iranian director, in a special section.

According to Artmag.ir, citing public relations of Farabi Cinema Foundation, Moscow International Film Festival, in the section reviewing works of its 46th edition, has a special section entitled “Dariush Mehrjui: The Poetry of Ordinary Life” reviewing the works of Dariush Mehrjui, the late Iranian cinematographer. dedicated.

The films “Hamon”, “Cow”, “Pear Tree”, “Leila”, “Perry” and “Ghosts” are among the works of this late Iranian director, which will be exhibited at the 2024 Moscow Film Festival.

The 46th Moscow Film Festival will be held in Russia from April 19 to 26.

Dariush Mehrjui, a writer, one of the prominent directors of Iranian cinema and one of the main figures of new wave of Iranian cinema, was born in 1939. In addition to working in cinema, he also wrote novels and translated.

In 2014, he was awarded the Knight of French Arts and Letters award by the French ambassador.

Mehrjui, graduated in philosophy from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Dariush Mehrjui and his wife Vahideh Mohammadifar were murdered on 14 October 2023 in their private villa in Karaj.
