Biography
He says in his biography: I was interested in the black painting of my childhood. Seeing the first issue of Caricature magazine in 1969, I started pulling Caricature. Then, with the guidance of Mr. Mohsen Davallo, the famous and veteran cartoonist and director of the Caricature magazine and with the encouragement of my uncle, Mr. Hormoz Pourmehdi, I started and continued my work. In the upper secondary school I read a natural field and paintings by teacher, Mr. Baqeri drew me on the blackboard. In the year 1971, I got a Diploma in the cartoon contest of the first cartoon magazine, and I had 5 gold coins from it. I was not allowed to continue my studies against the desire and inevitably in management. The first individual exhibition of cartoon in the year 1973 in Lahijan School of Management and the second in the Youth Palace of Rasht I held this year. During my studies in 1973, I was portrayed the first and second book of the Child. In these years caricatures I regularly published in the cartoon magazine. In 1977 in the first group exhibition, which was held by the Iranian-American Cultural Society in Tehran, I attended the elders of this field. This year, I participated in the recruitment test of the TV in the field of animated painting and after the training course, I was hired in the educational TV, which after the revolution, I was recruited to the two networks, and I was working in this network until the year 2001. (Other than the last five years I was transferred to the art company of Saba and IRIB.)
Caricatures of Abdi’s master, since 1974, has been published in the press. He is now collaborating with the Kayhan magazine, comic, caricature, and Hamshahri newspapers and Jamejam. In the past, he also collaborated with Bohlool, Shangool and Fokahion publications.
Activities
– I have a nest in your teeth; A 15-minute film about toothpaste that lives in the mouth of a rural child and makes him incapacitated. Finally, a wise bear saves him by teaching him the correct way to brush his teeth. This film participated in the Fajr Film Festival in 1984.
