Biography
He is one of the contemporary Iranian artists in field of calligraphy, graphics and painting. Master Seyed Mohammad Ehsaei is world-renowned and holds the first national award for culture and art. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Tehran, and has taught at the same faculty and faculty of art at Al-Zahra University for many years. Ehsaei has been working in the field of calligraphy, painting and graphics for more than 50 years. He is one of the founders of calligraphy in the contemporary period of Iran and has gained global credit with his collection of paintings. He began his career as a youth magazine publisher of the Population of the Lion and the Sun, and later became involved in the organization of textbooks, where he worked as a screenwriter and then head of the Graphic Studio. Followed. The experiences that followed his collaboration with the Pars Art Foundation and his association with people such as Morteza Momayez and Aydin Aghdashloo and Ali Asghar Masoumi and many others; As a painter and calligrapher, he came closer to graphic art. As of now, everyone feels his presence in the field of graphic design, especially calligraphy and aesthetic play with Iranian and Islamic letters, more than in other fields such as painting. Due to his extensive experience in graphics, he is the main contributor to the field of graphics in the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Tehran. Master Mohammad Ehsaei is one of the founders of calligraphy in Iran and the first to use letters as a means of expression. He, who was able to calligraphy, considered himself closer to tradition than the painters of Saqakhaneh, and then calligraphy and, most importantly, calligraphy, and the reason for this was his loyalty to the traditions of calligraphy and the actual connection of letters. He used visual and conceptual elements and arrays of painting in his calligraphy. What this artist had done a few years after the painters of Saqakhaneh, and first he was opposed and then faced with a slap in the face from the imitation of calligraphers. He has also excelled in calligraphy, presentation and development, and has continued to excel in the domestic and international arenas.

Since 1975, Ehsaei has started to draw paintings that are mainly formed with the word Allah or the verse La ilaha illa Allah, and according to him, it is a kind of visual mention of God and a manifestation of Islamic mysticism and Sufism. He has done these things several times so far, which is known as the works of God, and in the latest achievement, he has completely removed the color to create a new design in white and black on black and white, both of which are manifestations of light. Be. This form of his work is also known as the primordial alphabet. His other notable works include the design of inscriptions or logos of the Nahj al-Balagheh Foundation, the Niavaran Cultural Center, the Academy of Arts and the Textbook Organization, as well as the logos of many recent newspapers. Mohammad Ehsaei has participated in dozens of individual and group exhibitions before and after the revolution in Iran and other countries, including participating in the annual Swiss Ball Exhibition.

Counting work in the field of graphic design; It has a calligraphic appearance, and from the poster to the inscriptions of his writings, all of them are first summarized in structural and measured letters and games by combining the letters, and finally they play a graphic role. Due to the mixing of tradition with the innovation of the audience, they have a good relationship with his works, and perhaps this is the reason why he has always attracted the attention of art circles from his works, both in the years before and after the revolution. This success continues, and now both the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Academy of Arts are paying close attention to him and his work. So that in almost all the visual exhibitions of these two centers, a painting of him can be seen. In addition to the official success, there has also been a record number of sales of works of art at home and abroad. In 2006, his most expensive Christie’s Dubai calligraphy painting was named Asmaullah. The work sold for more than $ 100,000. In 2007, there were no statistics on the number of auctions; But this year, two of his works were sold at the big exhibition of the Haft Negah group for 20 and 15 million tomans. At the auction on the second night of November 2007, a calligrapher’s painting sold for. 88,000, or more than $ 217,000, at a London auction, which was widely reported by the international media. It was the gallery’s highest auctioneer, and it was the first time a contemporary Iranian artist had sold a calligraphy painting for such a large sum.

Mohammad Ehsaei has valuable works in prominent roles. In this part of the artistic activity, the main element of the artist’s works is still calligraphy and creative play with letters. He is also known as a skilled author and art expert. The most famous and popular of them; The prominent role of the Assembly Hall is the Faculty of Theology, University of Tehran; Which was implemented in 1977. A huge work in the form of letters and games with the movement and combination of words; It deals with the sensory representation of Attar’s poetry in Al-Tair region and the ups and downs of Simorgh. Another work that has created a number in the form of a relief; The facade of the Iranian embassy in Abu Dhabi is where the artistic creation is completely different from the hall of the Faculty of Theology in Tehran, and the monochromatic letters are written on a seemingly old, geometric and abstract background.
