Biography
He was born in Tehran, Bagh-e-Saba neighborhood, Malek Street, Jalali Alley. His father, Mr. Ebrahim Khan, was an agricultural engineer and his mother Mehri A’lam. In addition to his twin brother Esfandiar, the two brothers, who are the result of Ebrahim Khan’s marriage with Ashraf Sadat Hedayat, the sister of Sadegh Hedayat, are: Bijan, after the poet became famous and that Mehrdad went to the United States to continue his education in psychology forever. Late Bahman Jalali, in 1951, with the entrance of the school of Manouchehri, which later was created at the location of the Polytechnic school, began his primary school and completed the last year at the high School of the ornate al-Dawlah, located on the street of North Bahar. In 1957, he began high school education at the street of Sadi, and studied a high school diploma in a natural field of high school, in the Saba Garden neighborhood. In the years in Salim Street, the Jalali family was lower than three ways in the old Shemiran road (Dr. Shariati Street) and then on the North Bahar Street, Mozayyen al-Dawlah street. Jalali, in 1965, was admitted to the National university’s exams and in the Faculty of Economics and Political science and found a way to university. He completed his studies in economics. The important event of her life, i.e. entering the world of photography, has happened at this time and he, who has already been familiar with the camera of the mother, has been interested in the photography with the students of architecture in student trips to photography, and seriously it pays. He taught photography experimentally. In 1969, Jalali began a family-independent living with a residence in a small mansion in a garden belonging to a native mother in Tajrish, Sa’dabad St.

In 1970, he held his photos in the Museum of ancient Persia in the celebration of the culture and art of the company, and one of his photos won the award. At this time, his first picture was printed on the fifth issue of the weekly magazine, which was an introduction to the long-term cooperation with this journal. He made his individual exhibition at the Central Youth Palace, located in the place of the old road, above the mint three ways, and was familiar with Rana Javadi. This year, the images produced by the North fishermen were very attentive. In 1971, his other individual exhibition in Ghandriz Gallery, Anatol Street (University Avenue), and photography from show workshops show and more in the city which were printed in the magazine. Jalali continued a shot of the scenes from the show until the year 1978. The project was the first of the Honest home images and published in the magazine and suggested the conversion of this House to the great author for Iran this year. In 1973, he went to a military service in the Air Force. In 1974, the second individual exhibition in Zravan Gallery, located on the Northern Palace Street (the current Palestine) established. In 1975, during a trip to England, he attended the photography school of John Vickers and became a member of Excellence in the Royal Society of British Photographers. Bahman Jalali married to Rana Javadi this year. In 1976, he returned to Iran with the arrival of Asad Behrouzan, the Iranian expert Prominent, and worked in a project with him and in the same year, in the Journal of Watch, belonging to Iran’s radio and television, with Ghobad Shiva, a renowned graphic in the collaboration and management of the watch magazine photography. He was taken back again from Sadegh Hedayat home, which was supposed to be exploited as a museum of exploitation.

In the year 1977, the Sezavar Street was residing in the Kakh (Palestine) street, as well as his trip to seven African countries and the African art photography. After returning, the “Black African Art exhibition” in Ferdows Garden and publishing a book in the same name, the outcome of the trip was mentioned. In May 1978, vivid photographs of London travel in the City Gallery, located on Bozorgmehr Street. In this year, he settled in a house in the street, and lived in the same house until the end of life. Master Bahman Jalali had an active presence in photography from street events during the year of the Revolution. He was in an exhibition of photographs with Rana Javadi and… At the University of Farabi, he participated in Vozara Street (the current location of the University Publishing Center). Late Jalali, a photo exhibition titled: A Report from the Revolution, held on November 9, south Tehran, in the year 1979. He continued his cooperation with Soroush’s Journal, which was published instead of watching. The Book of Blood Days, days of fire, with more photos of Bahman Jalali and the photos of Rana Javadi, Hadi Harchi, Mahmoud Mohammadi, and Behrouz Shahidi were published at this time. Publishing the field, in addition, made cooking books without meat and easy cooking that its photos were prepared by Jalali. The exhibition set up from the photos of the Book of Blood Days, the days of fire at the Tampere Film Festival in Finland, by Hassan Tehrani and repeating it in the countries of Czechoslovakia and the Americas, were the accomplishments of late Jalali and fakher images. In this year, he was commissioned by Master Jalali, photography in high school of television and Cinema (Irib school). In the year 1980, he was going to the war zones and photography of the imposed war events, which continued its ongoing presence until the end of the war. In the year 1981, the first photo book about the war titled: Abadan, which Jangd, in April of the month with Jalali photos, was published by the Field Publishing, which soon reached the second print and unfortunately no longer had permission to print. In February of this year, the black and white photography book published a guide to the advent of film and photo prints, Master Jalali, co-Goli and Karim Emami. With the assistant master, in 1982, Kanab: Khorramshahr, published by Soroush Publishing, and five books on soil, including photo collection, along with photographs of Mehdi Khansari, Yahya Dehghanpour, Mahshid Farahmand, and Karim Emami.

In 1983, photos of Jalali in the series of imposed war books, defense against aggression, published by the headquarters of war promotions and repeated prints of some of his photographs as posters or in most other video collections of war. In 1984, while building a small house in the Kelardasht area in north of Iran, he used every opportunity to go there. In this year, Jalali traveled to Nicaragua for a illustrated report for the Journal of Soroush and shot the revolutionary of the sundust in that country. Animation: Ali Little, was prepared in 1985 and shot from the first part of it, Master Jalali, who went on 29 other parts of it, Rana Javadi. In the wake of severe kidney disease, late Jalali moved to Germany for surgery and unfortunately lost his kidneys. He also continued to photograph the war zones. Collaborating with the young Cinema Society and contributing to the launch of the photo magazine, a trip to various cities for training, lectures and judging the various festivals that continued until the end of his life was in this year. In this year, he published the book: Photographers and photography by Soroush’s publication. Master Bahman Jalali began teaching at the University of Tehran in 1986, and with Rana Javadi, the book: The Garden of Photography was published by Soroush Publications. In 1988, Bahman Jalali began collaborating with the Iranian book project and spent the time, and going to the corner of Iran, taking responsibility for the book’s photos. By this time, the only exquisite book illustrated about Iran, Iran’s Book of Firoozeh Bridge, was published by the Ministry of Information and Tourism in 1978, with photographs of an Italian photographer, Rudolf Bani. With the aim of keeping the worn out and damaged glass of Golestan album, and the release of the published versions of the Golestan Museum House, Jalali began its work in the year album.

In 1990, for the first time after the revolution, several travel posters were published with the photos of Jalali. The project is the beginning of cooperation with the Cultural Research Office, which will be continued until the end of his life. In 1991, he finally came to the official recruitment of Soroush magazine. Publishing the book: Iran the Land of light and color, in English, was valued by the Office of Cultural Research, the achievements of that year. Master Bahman Jalali began teaching at Islamic Azad University in 1993. In 1994, with Rana Javadi and Mohammad Hassan Khoshnevis, director of Cultural Research Office, the museum held a photo. The Book of Black and White photography was also reprinted by the Bureau of Cultural Research. This year, late Kaveh Golestan, famous photographer and jurnalists, made a video interview with Bahman Jalali about photography. A comparative photo exhibition titled: Tehran 57 Tehran, 73, was held at the Iranian Photographers ‘ House gallery during the management period of Ahmad Nateghi. At the end of the year 1995, the photo Museum of Iran was inaugurated in 2005. In this year, the management of photographs of books: Tehran at a glance, the Tehran municipality’s publication was held by Bahman Jalali. This year, he also was the jury of a UNESCO photo festival in Japan. In 1996, he retired from the Journal of Soroush. In the year 1997, he withdrew from collaborating with the house photography with other members of the founder of the House of the city, due to disagreement about managerial issues. This year, the exhibition of soil, with soil, was established in the territory of Hamburg University, Germany. He was stationed at Mirzaye Shirazi Street in his private office this year.

Apart from the documentary values, the Qajar-era photos show a pure, creative and artistic vision that has already emerged without any video backing. Cutting-edge photographs, composition of images, modes and use of living devices such as chairs, table and candlestick pots, as well as backgrounds that have been borne by the creativity of the photographers of the course, can be considered. In 1999, the book: Iran, the result of the efforts of Bahman Jalali, was published by the IRIB organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and was published in the second year in 2001.

In the year 2000, Master Bahman Jalali began teaching in the Office of Studies and Media planning affiliated to the Ministry of Culture and Islamic guidance and transferred his private office to Amir Atabak Street, the military alley. The individual exhibition was established in the year 2001, titled The Image of Imagination and with the content: The Art gallery, located in Shahid Ahmadpour Street, by Bahman Jalali. In the same year, a group exhibition carried out with a number of students with the theme of the Ghoo Motel in Haft Samar Gallery, Motahari Street, Noor Sea Street. The beginning of cooperation with the Silk Road gallery, first on Africa Street and later on the street of Farmanyeh, which continued until the end of his life, as well as participation in group exhibition: The Persian Look in Paris and the group exhibition with the cooperation of Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, in the country of Thessaloniki Film Festival in Iran Greece was a work achievement of that year. In 2003, individual exhibition was held in the Silk Road gallery titled the Image of Imagination. Also, the individual exhibition in the Gallery of the group and participation in a team exhibition in the Brunei Gallery, London, titled a dozen photography Trips, Iran in the 21st century, was among other activities in the year 2003. In the year 2004, Bahman Jalali, in a group exhibition titled: Iranian Silver in the most populous gallery, was attended by Minnesota in the United States, as well as repeating it in other American cities. From his other activities this year, participation in a face-to group exhibition, in the hotel of the city of the United Arab Emirates, Dubai, a group exhibition of Silk Road gallery in Paris photo, participation in a group exhibition in the European Parliament in the Brussels municipality. As well as the speech in the Silk Road gallery about Iran’s photography history. In the year 2005, Bahman Jalali moved to his last office in Ghaem Magham Street, 1st Alley. The beginning of teaching in the training classes of the month of Mehr, the company in Photo London, San Sebastian, in Spain, a company in the UK, in the United Kingdom, holding slideshows from photos of the revolution and war, with Rana Javadi in the 16th International Documentary Film Festival, in France, participated in group exhibition in Gallery. The most important activities of late Master Bahman Jalali in the year 2006 were: slideshows from the photos of the revolution and the war in the 50th International Short Film Festival ozone, participation in group photo exhibition at the British Museum in London, titled: Word in Art, participation in a group exhibition in the Museum of Honra Contemporary Tehran, titled: Silver Window, participation in the exhibition of Nasim Gallery, in Budapest, Hungary, titled: Silk Lights, participation in group exhibitions in the Golart Gallery, in various Australian cities, as: Iran. In 2007, he participated in a group exhibition at the Silk Road Gallery in Tehran. This year, a great exhibition of Jalali works, was held at the Tagpace foundation of Barcelona, Spain. Jalali considered the most important event of his life after forty years of photography. Book: Bahman Jalali was published by Anthony Takpace. In this year he held a individual exhibition in the Silk Road gallery titled the Honor of the 165-year history of Iranian photography. Other activities in this year can be: Repeat the word exhibition in art in Dubai, holding slideshows from the photos of the revolution and the war at homework, Alvan’s forms, in Beirut Lebanon and the Jalali lecture on the history of Iranian photography, participation in group Milk, under the rainbow. In Greece, a group of live traditions in the Queen Palace, in Kabul Afghanistan as well as a number of pictures with the theme of urban landscapes pointed out.

Screening for documentary: An Incomplete Photograph about Bahman Jalali, in 2008, was awarded the best Documentary Film of Fajr International Film Festival. The year 2009, the year of sadness, was the absence and death of the late, Bahman Jalali. In late December of 2009, the symptoms of pancreatic cancer in the disease were chart and progress quickly. Unfortunately, a two-week trip to Germany was useless to treat and cure. Master Bahman Jalali, Thursday, January 14, was listed back and on the following day, at three and fifteen minutes Friday, January 15, the Clinic of the world. On January 17, 2009, his body was buried in the artists ‘ Behesht Paradise in Tehran.

He has not only worked as a prominent photographer, but also as a researcher and photography instructor over the years in Iran and had an influential role in the new generation of Iranian photographers. Teaching in the universities of art, Tehran, Azad, Shahed, News, IRIB, supervisor and arbitrator of many student dissertations of photography students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and holding over 50 photo exhibition courses in countries: Iran, France, Germany, Hungary, former Czechoslovakia, Finland, Spain, receiving a plaque of appreciation for the Iranian Press Photographers Association, as a photographer of the revolution in the 30th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, Tehran was the countless activity of Bahman Jalali.
