Biography
He was born from an artist’s family. He was fond of five years singing. Every member of the family, from his paternal grandfather to his grandfather and father, had experience in singing and playing various instruments, and Iraj also got acquainted with the principles of music with them, and then learned musical instruments from his father. As a teenager, he was taught by his uncle, Yadollah Bastami, under whose leadership a group was formed with the cooperation of the Bastami brothers, who performed on radio and television at the time and in the Ramsar camps. After the death of Yadollah Bastami, Iraj was present to learn singing and vocal radif with Ostad Shajarian and, despite the difficulties of road and high distances, a week at a time to love singing from Bam to Tehran came. Bastami, in the event of the Islamic Revolution, he rented a room in the Pamenar of Tehran to be able to benefit from Ostad Shajarian’s teachings.
