Biography
He started his photography experiences in 1977. His career began in 1981. Mehdi Monem, worked as a photographer at the Islamic Republic News Agency in 1982. During his five years at IRNA, he photographed several iraqi war military operations against Iran. After the imposed war for 25 years, all of his photographic subjects have been with the content of the effects of war on the people. The book: The Miracle of Hope, which includes photographs and narrates the lives of wounded warriors on the battlefield, has been published by him. Victims of Wars 1 and 2 is the title of another photo book by Mehdi Monem, which recounts the effects of the war on civilians, which was published in 2009 with the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross. Mehdi Monem is currently completing a photography project related to the martyrs and missing of Iraq’s eight-year war against Iran. His other activities include publishing multimedia photos of war victims on the United Nations website in 2009, publishing a video report in Ishin Geography in Singapore in 2011, and publishing a video report in the Italian magazine Privet. It is worth mentioning that several exhibitions of the War Victims Project have been held in Iran and abroad. His activities include attending the 165th Anniversary of Iranian Photography Exhibition in Paris, the International Earl of France Festival, attending the Paris Photo, as well as holding an online photo exhibition entitled: Love and Peace in the United States this year.
