Global presence of two Iranian short films

The film “Sweet Perfume” was accepted into the competition section of the EuroShorts Festival in Poland, and at the same time, the film “She’s Not Here” won the Best Short Film award at the Terni Festival in Italy.
According to Artmag.ir, citing ISNA, the short film “Sweet Perfume”, directed and produced by Mohammad Reza Mohammadi, has entered the 34th EuroShorts Festival; a festival established by the Polish Young Cinema Foundation since 1992 and this year will screen 75 films from different countries in the international section. This festival will be held in Poland from December 1 to 13, 2025.
“Sweet Perfume” previously received the Best Film Award from the 9th Short Long World Festival in Argentina and has also participated in festivals in Italy, Nigeria and other countries.
The short film “She’s Not Here”, written and directed by Saeed Siri, also won the Best Short Film Award at the 21st Italian Terni Film Festival; an event that was held in Italy from November 8 to 16, 2025 with themes such as peace, international interaction, migration and social justice.
The 14-minute film, starring Sarah Mayeli and Alireza Golpoury, tells the story of 9-year-old Kiana, who suffers a traumatic event and whose sketchbook magically changes the environment around her.
“She’s Not Here” had previously won the Best Director award at the Pigeon Film Festival in Iceland and the title of Best and Most Influential Film at the Hecare Film Festival in Canada.
