Appreciation of 3 veteran documentarians in Cinema Haghighat Festival
In the 14th International Cinema Haghighat Film Festival, three documentary filmmakers and veterans of Iranian documentary cinema will be honored.
According to ISNA, Kamran Shirdel, Mahvash Sheykh-ol-Eslami and Farshad Fadaian are three of the leading documentary filmmakers in Iranian documentary who will be honored during the 14th Cinema Haghighat International Film Festival, which will be held online this year.
Kamran Shirdel was born in 1939 in Tehran and graduated in architecture and urban planning from the University of Rome and the Cinema Research Center of Rome. During his 55 years of artistic activity, he has produced and directed more than 130 independent, industrial and advertising documentaries, some of which are: Mirrors, Boom Simin, Tehran is the capital of Iran, the epic of the Gorgani countryside or the night it rained, the castle, the pearls of the Persian Gulf-Dubai, the arrow, the penitentiary, the mirrors, the first solitude, Mobarakeh Steel, etc. Cinema: The morning of the fourth day
Shirdel made these valuable works, such as honorary diploma of the World Film Schools Festival in Tokyo, Japan, Fike Portugal Award, the first Roshd Film Festival Award, six awards from the Sepas Festival, The Grand Prix of the Tehran International Film Festival has received the Pfeiffer Badge of the Krakow Film Festival in Poland, the Merit Badge of Italy, and so on. He has also been a founding member of the Iranian Cinema Documentaries Association.
Mahvash Shaykh ol-Eslami was born in 1945 in the city of Malayer and graduated in cinema from the London Film School.
She was the programmer and production manager of the television series Uncle John Napoleon, Koochak Jangali, Sarbadaran, Hezardestan, and the documentaries Ball, Dose, Hands, Where I Belong, Second House, Yufak, Charshoo, Pirhara, Pershang, Killer or Victim, Article 61, Dark Room, Kolfarah, Bardshir, directed the strait.
The Grand Prix of the Tampere Film Festival of Finland, the best film of the international section of the Tehran Short Film Festival, the honorary diploma of the Fajr Film Festival, the turquoise badge of the first Cinema Haghighat International Film Festivall, are among the honors of this documentary filmmaker.
Farshad Fadaian was born in 1947 in Tehran and graduated in philosophy from Tabriz University.
He has directed and produced more than 70 documentaries, which have brought him several awards from documentary festivals.
The Center for the Development of Documentary and Experimental Cinema of the Iranian Cinema Affairs Organization has organized the 14th International Iranian Documentary Film Festival “Cinema Haghighat” under the auspices of Mohammad Hamidi Moghadam, from 15 December to 22 December 2020, will be held virtually and online.
