Results of Roudaki Foundation’s call for Iranian Instrumental Orchestras

The Roudaki Foundation, published the final results of the Iranian Instrument Orchestra exam, which was held on August 16 and 17 at the Roudaki Hall.

According to Artmag.ir, in August of this year, after the official call was announced by the Roudaki Foundation, musicians of the qدnun, tar, santur, kamancheh, oud, tonbak, and ney instruments registered to participate in the exam and were called for an in-person exam after receiving the repertoire and meeting the requirements.

Following this call and registration of more than 200 people, after review, 116 of them were found eligible to participate in the exam. The exam was held on August 16 and 17, 2025 at the Roudaki Hall, and the musicians competed in performing the specified repertoire in the presence of a jury.

Accordingly, after the orchestra’s artistic council’s specialized evaluations, the selected members were selected and introduced as follows:
1. Arash Pourmohammadi (Tar)
2. Shahrzad Sepehri Shayan (Tar)
3. Ali Mohammad Eftekhari (Tar)
4. Morteza Soltani (Tar bass)
5. Hossein Khavas (Santur)
6. Ainaz Rai (Qanun)
7. Behzad Golshani (Kamancheh)
8. Danial Narjabadi (Kamancheh)
9. Aeen Mousavizadeh (Kamancheh)
10. Hossein Shahriari (Alto Kamancheh)
11. Asal Shakeri (Qichak)

It should be noted that none of the musicians were selected for the oud, tonbak, and ney instruments, and suitable musicians for these instruments will be determined by invitation from the orchestra’s artistic council.

Parichehr Khajeh, Ali Bahramifard, Hessam Inanloo, Ghasem Rahimzadeh, and Amir Abbas Setayeshgar are members of the artistic council of the Roudaki Foundation Iranian Instruments Orchestra.

This orchestra was formed with the aim of improving the quality of Iranian music performances, providing a professional platform for artists in this field, creating new experiences in this field, and recognizing and recreating the precious treasure of Iranian instrumental music, and will begin its activities soon.
