Biography
He started working as a face painter in the late 1930s, attending the Caravan Film Studio and working in the fields of: titration, decor and special effects from those years. He started his artistic activity as a teenager in 1943 in Pars, Nasr and Dehghan theaters. He continued his work in the weekly: Tehran, illustrated by the little ones, with the privilege of Abdollah Vala and the editor of Labat Sheibani. During this period, he met people such as: Dr. Fathollah Vala, then director of Nasr Theater and Theater, Dr. Shervan, Dr. Kooshan, Sarang, Master Nosratollah Mohtasham and Mehdi Raees Firooz, and since then he has been working and continuing in Barbad community. Became active. The life of Master Iraj Safdari is mentioned as one of the pioneers and pioneers of the makeup designer industry. He started his first official work in 1958, in Nasr Theater, in the play Death of a Mouse, directed by Dr. Fathollah Vala, and in the field of cinema, in 1959, in the movie Asmoon Jal, directed by Nusratullah Vahdat. In the first years of the revolution, his wife, Ms. Fatemeh Jafari, worked with him as a make-up artist, and then his second son, Abdollah Safdari, learned the profession from him as an assistant, and then began working independently in the field of make-up. The late Iraj Safdari, in addition to his main profession, due to the prevailing conditions in the workspaces of that time, also worked in other fields such as acting, caption design, special effects, stage designer and production manager. He worked as a make-up artist and make-up designer in many famous works of pre-revolutionary and post-revolutionary cinema. Some of his famous works in the field of portraiture include: Tangsir, Mirza Kuchak Khan, The Man Who Became a Mouse, and Mirza Nowrouz Shoes. During his career in some movies as an actor, he has been in front of the camera, some of which are Sardar Jangal, Silent Hunting and The Sound of the Sea.
