A selected exhibition of Reza Babak’s paintings, titled “With Babak,” will be held at the Sales Gallery.
According to Artmag.ir, an exhibition of Reza Babak’s paintings titled “With Babak” will open at the Sales Gallery on Friday evening, April 18, with the collaboration of Argavan Borujeni and Shahram Azimi. This exhibition is a selection of Reza Babak’s paintings from the past few years.
The description of the exhibition states: “Reza Babak has been painting for many years alongside acting. His paintings are similar to his acting and, like his enduring roles in cinema, are poetic, tender, and pleasant. In his paintings, he has achieved childlike aspects of his unconscious that are direct and unpolished. Hence, they are a representation of the painter’s inner memories and emotions.”
Reza Babak says about his paintings: I have been painting for many years. I was painting before the revolution, but sometimes there was a gap between my works. After the revolution, I started painting more seriously and started working with watercolors. I remember that in the early years of the revolution, when I was not acting in theater or film, painting caused a discharge of emotions and energy and filled the void of acting in theater for me.
This is Reza Babak’s second solo exhibition of paintings. An exhibition of his works called “Zang Naghchi” was previously held at Seko Gallery in 2010.
The “With Babak” exhibition will be held from 18th of April to 29th of May 2025, every day from 10 to 21, and Fridays from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Sales Gallery, located at 148 Karim Khan Zand Street between Iranshahr and Mahshahr.
