Exhibition of unseen works by Aydin Aghdashloo

Coinciding with the unveiling of Aydin Aghdashloo‘s first international monograph, an exhibition of the artist’s paintings, sculptures, and prints will open at Gallery B on Friday, February 28.
According to Artmaga.ir, quoted by Mehr News Agency, Aydin Aghdashloo‘s first international monograph, recently published by Skira Publishing in Milan, will be unveiled on Friday, February 28, with a speech by Takin Aghdashloo, Ebrahim Haghighi, Ali Dehbashi, Kianoosh Motaghedi, and Marco Meneguzzo at Gallery B.
This book is a comprehensive overview of Aghdashloo’s six decades of continuous artistic activity, compiled in 304 pages in English and edited by Marco Meneguzzo and Takin Aghdashloo. The work includes essays by David Unfam, Michel Deville, Marco Meneguzzo, and Zahra Faridani Akhavan, as well as a collection of twelve previous essays on the artist written by figures such as Abbas Kiarostami, Dariush Shayegan, and Bahram Beyzai.
The unveiling ceremony, which will be accompanied by the presence of Aydin Aghdashloo and the book signing ceremony, will also feature a short film about the artist.
In addition to the unveiling ceremony, an exhibition of Aydin Aghdashloo’s various periods of work will be held at Gallery B, showcasing 17 works.
Curated by Takin Aghdashloo, the exhibition will feature 7 paintings and 7 prints from different periods of Aghdashloo’s work; however, the special part of the exhibition is the display of 3 sculptures by the artist, which will be on display for the first time.
The collection of sculptures in this exhibition includes 3 bronze works: Snow, Apocalypse, and Identity, each of which is derived from the artist’s well-known visual world, and in this collection, Aghdashloo has recreated familiar motifs from his paintings.
These volumetric works were designed in collaboration with Art Mart and the Aghdashloo Foundation and were produced in 20 editions.
Aydin Aghdashloo, is one of the artists who has held a few solo exhibitions so far.
The artist’s last exhibition was held in 2014, and now, after a decade, his works are on display at Gallery B.
The exhibition of Aydin Aghdashloo‘s works, opened on February 28 and will be open to art lovers until April 11 at Gallery B, located in Ajodaniyeh, on the corner of East Tavakoli Alley, No. 26, Agra Building.
