Abbas Kowsari, secretary of the Shargh newspaper photo service, was selected as one of the judges of the prestigious World Press Photo Photography Award.
According to Artmag, the organizers of the 2022 World Press Photo Photography Award announced the list of regional judges for the event, with Abbas Kowsari from the Islamic Republic of Iran being selected as one of the four judges in the Asian region.
Along with photographers from Hong Kong, Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia, he will judge the works of the World Press Photo Photography Award in the Asian region and will select the selected Asian works for the 2022 WorldPress World Competition.
The World Press Photo Award is one of the world’s most prestigious photography awards and usually announces its winners in late April.
In 2021, the list of the winners of the eight branches of the World Press Photo Awards was announced. The winners were selected from 4,315 photographers from 130 countries and the names of two Iranian photographers were announced among the winners of the international award.
