The artistic secretary of National Photo Festival of Nowruzlui Miandoab Wetland said: According to statistics of the participants, 51 photographers from 25 provinces of Iran will participate in first Miandoab Photo Festival.
According to Artmag, Alireza Babaei, artistic secretary of the festival, said: 552 requests for review of records and resumes were sent to secretariat of festival, they introduced names of 51 people by mentioning the name of province of residence.
He added that photographers from provinces of East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan, Ardabil, Alborz, Tehran, Razavi and North Khorasan, Semnan, Fars, Qazvin, Kurdistan, Kermanshah, Golestan, Gilan, Mazandaran, Markazi and Hamedan will participate in the Miandoab Photo Festival. : Initially, the festival was supposed to be held regionally with the participation of photographers from 10 provinces, but due to the unparalleled welcome of artists from all over Iran, with addition of the “guest” section, festival became national.
He added: “We are also planning to hold it internationally, and if Turkey cooperates, a part of the festival will be held in that country.”
The artistic secretary of the Nowruzlui Miandoab Wetland Photo Festival added: “This festival will start today, Friday, and will be held for three days until May 10,” and said: “The city is ready to hold this festival in every way, so that the governor’s office, municipality and related departments support everyone.”
Babaei added: “Also, some citizens have spontaneously published messages and calls in cyberspace in order to support and treat guests in the city, which is a place of happiness and gratitude.”
Saying that Miandoab is considered as the “Bicycle City of Iran”, he said: during three days that festival is held with the presence of photographers in different and historical places of city or artists are present in city, cyclists should be present in city by bicycle. And we expect citizens to participate and cooperate in this regard.
Babaei said that some photographers have been present in city for a few days now and are satisfied with warmth and welcome of the citizens, adding: “In addition, people should cooperate in different ways during the festival.”
He added: “This festival is held in cooperation with Yamyashil Environmental NGO and Yeni Bakhish Cultural and Artistic Institute.”
According to report, festival will be held in four sections, including main section, the new look, the side section and old photographs. Documentary photography with professional cameras such as single photos and a collection of photographs related to main section, concept photography, abstract, fine art and photomontage related to festival themes in New Look section, mobile photography for citizens of Miandoabi, and album and archive photos related to Old Photos section.
Miandoab city, as its name suggests, is located between two rivers, Zarrinehrood (Jighati) and Siminehrood (Tatao), to be called the city of water and center of agriculture and animal husbandry, while it also has 1,150 hectares of wetlands.
