Screening of Shahram Mokri’s Film in Sydney

Shahram Mokri’s film Black Rabbit, White Rabbit* will continue its international festival tour with a screening in the “Festival of Festivals” section at the 73rd Sydney Film Festival.

According to Artmag.ir, quoting ISNA, the festival will take place from 3 to 14 June in Sydney, Australia. Asghar Farhadi will also be present in the main competition section with his film Parallel Stories.

The Sydney Film Festival has described Black Rabbit, White Rabbit as a work within the genre of magical realism, a film in which three narratives intersect and collide.

Mokri’s latest feature was screened last month at the Fribourg International Film Festival in Switzerland.

Written by Nasim Ahmadpour and Shahram Mokri, produced by Negar Eskandarfar, and starring Babak Karimi and Hasti Mohmaei, the film follows a woman who, after a car accident, discovers that the realities around her have begun to shift, taking on an uncanny and mysterious atmosphere.

Black Rabbit, White Rabbit was filmed in Tajikistan and features actors from both Iran and Tajikistan.

The film is distributed by Dreamlab Films, headed by Nasrin Mirshab.
