Eternal goodbye to Mehrdad Zolnour

The ritual of Mehrdad Zolnour, a graphic artist, to the Eternal House was held on an autumn morning in late October 2021 in the artists’ section.

According to Artmag, The artist’s body was buried at the ceremony, which took place at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday (October 17) amid the grief of his family, a number of artists and friends of Mehrdad Zolnour’s life in Behesht-e Zahra, Tehran.

Seifollah Samadian, a photographer and documentary filmmaker who was a close friend and colleague of Zulnoor, also attended the event. Playing an audio file of the artist that was sent to him for the death of his brother Yadollah Samadian, he noted: One of the people who are not from Iran but were considered close to Mehrdad and are not present at the ceremony was Samira Makhmalbaf. May God bless the family of Makhmalbaf and Zulnoor.

Then the voice message of Ebrahim Haghighi, who is not in Tehran, was broadcast. In this message, he described his acquaintance with Zolnour, from the university classrooms to the Graphic Designers Association, and after that, described his absence as very bitter and irreparable.

Mir Jalaleddin Kazzazi, author, university professor and Shahnameh researcher, was among those present at the event. Sahand Samadian, Farhad Fozoni, Farzaneh Khademian, Mehdi Ghasemi, Roshan Norouzi, Soheil Samadian, Maryam Malek, Naghmeh Maghsoudlou, Yalda Moaiery, Zahra Rad, Hamid Babavand, Arsalan Amanati, Benjamin Sharifi, Farzad Khoshdok and Elham Mahar These were the ceremonies.

 Zolnour was an artist who was born in 1973 and was an early member of the Association of Graphic Designers and played an effective and constructive role in most biennale, events and commemorations of the association. The late Zolnour’s work includes managing galleries at the Iranian Artists’ House. The artist is also known for his photography in Afghanistan.
